Last week, we traveled to Waltham to play on their turf field. As it turns out, turf really hurts when you fall on it, especially when you're tripped while running full speed. Danielle got nailed in the shin with someone's stick, Morgan made a barrel roll into the turf and Diane used her knees as brake pads (and all within the first half!). More importantly, we ended the first half tied at 7 thanks to Danielle, Morgan, Isabel, Rachel, Kiley (twice!), Katelyn. I think it's pretty cool that we had 6 separate scorers in one half! Kelly, Mackenzie, Stephanie, Kristen, Ashely and Amanda played a strong half and reacted to one girl's constant desire to roll around the crease (there are so many of those girls...). Maddy made 5 great saves including shutting down 2 Gann free positions!
Second half started out well but Gann snuck ahead by 2 in the last minutes of the game (11-13 final). Rachel, Danielle, Isabel and Tori scored and our defense continued to play a smart, clean game. Maddy improved her record and had 9 saves (14 total) including 2 more free positions!
