JV's Debut

We don't really have a JV team. We're really just one big (or not so big) squad and we create different line ups for each game. Today's game required a few girls to play an ENTIRE game - and they did a great job!

Frankie, fresh off of a week of feeling miserable, bravely stepped onto the field and played every.single.minute. We're so thankful that she was willing to put her all into a game she barely knows, and I know she'll be a great player (with or without her kilt that fell off in the last minutes). Also on offense was Motoria who, thanks to a brilliant decision after a failed goalie clear, scored her first goal!! Isabel put in another great game and should expect to see a lot of field time tomorrow. Diane and Jessica tried out attack wing and did such a good job. They made smart throws, great catches and switched to defense without hesitating. Morgan played center, won nearly every draw and scored 3 goals!! On defense, Tori proved herself to be a versatile and aggressive player - also scoring her first goal! Mackenzie played another strong game and is getting more confident by the minute. Ashley, Stephanie and Megan formed out defense and worked hard to (a) figure out what this thing called defense is and (b) stop as many shots as possible. They did a wonderful job.

Just like in yesterday's game, today's match wouldn't have been the same without our goalie. Katy stepped at a moment's notice and played her first game in goal since the 2009 season. We're so grateful for her willingness to suit up!

For those of you keeping score, Danielle scored our 6th goal in a brief but strong performance. Kelly, Katelyn, Rachel and Kristen also stepped onto the field - and Kristen even took some draws!

We play again tomorrow, and this time it's our "varsity" team. We're up against Waring on their home field at 3:45. We'd love to see you there!

p.s. The final score was 8-6, Gann. Minor detail.
