Despite the weirdest April weather we've seen in awhile, the girls added an 8-4 win to their season! Lea M. was the star of the show today & made 10 excellent saves (she must have been inspired by Maxie's praise in yesterday's post...). She also gave us 'words of wisdom' during half time & encouraged the girls to "harness their hunger" and control their energy - which is exactly what they did. We're so glad to have her spirit and talent on our team!
Danielle S. had an outstanding game today scoring her second goal of the season and making incredible plays on offense and defense. On the other end of the field, Lucia A. played such great defense, you'd never guess this was her first season! Fresh from college visits, Eliza W. flew onto the field late in the second half and helped the offense end the game as strong as they started.
4 of our goals came from the speedy Juliette, Lilly N. knocked in her first goal of the season and Krissy C. & Kiley D. made the total eight. Eden B. played a solid game at 1st home/A wing (and gave a great senior presentation at Prep this morning). Ashley H. and Rachel S. were everywhere they needed to be, while Kiley D. and Kristen L. made transition after transition (and rumor has it Kiley still has the energy to go for a run after each game... amazing). Caroline M., Mackenzie A., Savannah H. and Morgan B. each made some great plays and happily cheered on their team despite the cold. Isabel W., Jenna H., Katy A., Sarah S. and Stephanie S. were our spirit squad today and I know we played better because of their energy.
We get a break tomorrow - phew! - and then travel to Chapel Hill on Friday. Thanks to all of you who came out today :)
