The Game with 41 Goals.

The girls played a tremendous game against Montrose yesterday, losing 26 to 15. When we played them two weeks ago, we lost 16 to 5. The major difference this time was our intensity and drive. 10 minutes into the first half, we were down 7 to 1 (scored by Krissy Churchill). We took a time out, told the girls to shake it off, and they went on to score 5 goals (and only allow 4 more from Montrose)!

The girls came out from half time inspired and played incredibly well. Jenna Hunt & Sam Silverman were on fire (or En Fuego as our cheer goes) scoring 6 and 5 goals respectively. Eliza Woodworth was magically in the right place every time & scored 3 goals because of it. She even scored on our school-spirit play "lighthouse"! Defensively, Amanda Doyle, Kristen Larocque & Meredith Hofmaier stopped multiple shots and passes with their nets, bodies and intensity. Katy Aldrich continues to improve, making many great saves from a hard-shooting team.

The best part of the game was when Montrose took a time out in the second half after we shortened their lead to 5 goals. For us, it was like watching a sweaty A-Rod come up to bat with shaky hands. This team is first in the league every year and the fact that we were putting so much pressure on them was a big boost to our pride.

We have our last JV game today (still undefeated!) at Iron Rail and our final four games in the next two weeks. We'd love to see you on the sidelines!
