Surprise! Boston Trinity Academy

The girls had an unexpected chance to play Boston Trinity (BTA) yesterday and soldiered through 3 hours on the bus to get there and back! We lost, 11-9, but there were some excellent highlights. Lea M. played her second full game in goal and was a great 'captain of the defense'. Katy A., Ashley H. and Lucia A. fended off BTA's offense throughout the game (and Ashley even played some offense!). Mackenzie A. and Maxie C. started at defensive wing where they ran and ran and ran. Kiley D. returned to center, scored 2 goals, and continued to play with skill and grace. On offense, Jenna H. and Rachel S. played attack wing with Isabel W., Morgan B. and Kelly M. at homes. While Rachel scored 6 of our goals (one more than last time), she was assisted by each of those girls along the way. Danielle S. and Lilly N. each saw some time at center, and Caroline M. scored her first goal of the season! Stephanie S. managed to overcome her nerves and get on the field, but thanks to my complete ignorance of the clock, she had to come off for half time 1 minute later. In a clear signal that the coaches are losing their minds, Kristen L., Taylor S. and Sarah S. played high offense (the polar opposite of their usual posts) while Juliette L., Krissy C., Eden B. and Eliza W. played point and cover point (ditto).

At the end of the game, both referees came up to me and commented on how lovely our girls are and how fun it was to ref the game. It's no surprise to me, but it's always nice to know that someone else sees how great this team is!

We play at Brimmer & May tomorrow, 4:00. Stop by if you're in the Chestnut Hill area, or just wish us luck :)
