A Tie to Remember

The girls played Gann Academy today and walked off the field with a THRILLING 14-14 tie behind them. The score was back and forth from the first minute and neither team was ever more than 2 points away from the other. Eden Bellow & Lacey Johnson kept the ball on offense and displayed incredible skill and game sense. Juliette Larzelere and Jenna Hunt scored three goals each, Krissy Churchill and Eliza Woodwoth each knocked in 4. Our defense was phenomenal - stopping shots, intercepting passes (oh, and getting a few yello cards along the way...) & Katy Aldrich played her best game in goal to date.

The game ended with Gann up by one, 36 seconds on the clock. Gann won the draw and got the ball into our defensive zone. Our defense pounced and created a turnover, resulting in Juliette Larzelere holding the ball just shy of the 50. At the whistle, with 7 seconds left, Juliette passed to Jenna, Jenna flew to goal and took a perfect shot ending the game with a tie score and an elated team.

We play Waring tomorrow (Collins field, 4:00) and we see Gann again on Monday (Collins, 4:00) - both promise to be great games!
