In case you couldn't make it to the athletic awards presentation tonight, here are our big winners!
MVP - Jenna Hunt
This girl defines what it is to be an athlete at Landmark. She is fast and strong. When she falls down, often in a tangle of limbs and lacrosse sticks, she bounces back up without so much as a whimper. She loves the sport for what it is, and challenges her skills everyday. She makes our practices fun and our games competitive. We will feel her loss next year but promise to travel to at least one UNH lacrosse game - whether or not she's playing!
Most Improved Player - Eden Bellow
On sidewalks and in classrooms, this player walks with the purposeful stride of a true New Yorker. However, once she steps on the field her feet start flying in a little dance that we coaches call “twinkle toes.” With her feet flying, she pushes herself to work harder in practice, run faster during free time, cradle better over vacations and throw harder during the summer. She’s worked to learn the art of lacrosse, not just the mechanics, and our team is the better for it.
Coach’s & Sportsmanship - Amanda Doyle
This award was hard for us to choose. We have a team of dedicated, enthusiastic girls who played with heart during each game and every practice. However, there was one girl who was there every day, working hard every minute, and brought her sunny disposition wherever we went. She is simply a joy to coach. We’re so proud of all the progress she’s made on the field and can’t wait to see her continue to grow.
